Taste of Singapore – Part 1

Lately I realized that I missed one good thing when I travel. That is to taste the unique dishes in the country I’m visiting. I realized that my lunch is Wendy’s when I’m in Bangkok, I have Mc Donalds chicken wings and fries when I’m in Macau and Hongkong. Our dinner is Pizza hut Pizza in Macau. Not to mention hotel food during business trips!

This time,I tried to be a little daring in my food choices in Singapore. The last time I visited here, I tried Singapore’s Chili Crab and Pepper Crab. This time we tried dining where most of the people eat. In Vivo City, Suntec, inside Universal Studios and in Ikea.

Ikea Meatballs is the best! A super must try for SGD 3-5. (Thanks Ms Liza for dinner treat)

Ikea chicken and Fries

Ikea Soup for the day (If I remember it right, this is seafood chowder)

Ikea’s Salmon

Fried Chicken bucket at Goldilocks, Universal Studios

Yang-chow at Suntec City Food Court

Hakaw at Suntec City Foodcourt

Singapore Chicken Rice

Beef noodles Serangoon

Veggie soup at Serangoon

Egg tart at Suntec City

Charles & Keith Outlet Store in Singapore

One of my favorite and cheapest buy in Singapore is my favorite ladies footwear brand “Charles & Keith”. We’re grateful that our Singapore colleague Liza brought us in Charles & Keith outlet store located in Anchorpoint in Queensland.

Since the Great Singapore Sale 2011 just started this day (May 26), items are 50%-70% off. We got ourselves few pairs of sandals for only SGD 20 only or Php 700! Not bad, huh.

Anchorpoint Mall is located at Alexandra Road, Queensland

How to go there: Take MRT and go down to Queenstown MRT Station or take a cab

Universal Studios Singapore Travel Diary

There’s something about theme parks that makes me feel so excited! Maybe it’s the adventurous side of me… During our 3 days vacation in Singapore, our second day itinerary is to experience Universal Studios Singapore. The park is quiet small compare to Disneyland Hongkong, fewer characters around for photo op and more rides available for adults.

The entrance gate has a hollywood theme, where Oscars Icon is everywhere. We never thought that this strip is surrounded by the famoun Gold Oscar’s trophy icon, if we just knew it we don’t waste our time taking picture right in front of the USS gate. I swear there’s more of them inside.

Along the Hollywood boulevard we had our first and only photo op, I don’t know her actually and I don’t bother to google her. At least we met at least one Universal studios character right?

This is Shrek’s Castle, amazing!

Our lunch at Goldilocks food park. We had a bucket of chicken, bun and soda!

Here are the exciting rides we enjoy most:

Jurassic Park Rapids

Madagascar

Revenge of the Mummy (yay)

Waterworld

I’ve almost tried Galactica, but upon deciding at 6pm, the gatekeeper told me that this ride is already closed. Too bad for me, maybe next time.
